I Am An Indianapolis Music Examiner!
Hi John,
Thanks for applying at Examiner.com. We have reviewed your information and believe you would make an excellent Indianapolis Music Examiner.
Who are Examiners?
Examiners are people who are passionate, prolific and proud of their cities. Their credibility is real and varied, based on education, experience, insider enthusiasm and the sheer depth of their local insights.
What do we expect from you?
Examiners contribute a minimum of 4 brief articles per week that are well written, on topic, informative, useful and timely. We find that frequent posting of articles will tend to generate the most traffic to your page.
Examiners utilize easy social networking sites and tools like StumbleUpon.com to help promote their articles. We will provide you with basic information on how to do this.
On average, an active Examiner spends 3-6 hours per week writing, publishing and promoting their minimum contributions.
All Examiners must submit to a confidential background check conducted by Frasco Profiles. (You’ll receive more information about this soon.) We do not check credit or employment, just criminal history.
As an Examiner, you retain the rights to your content, so you can use it elsewhere; content you’ve published elsewhere can be used on your Examiner.com page (provided the other site allows such use.)
There are no contracts; you’re only an Examiner as long as you want to be.
How much can you make?
Examiner.com has a competitive pay structure. Examiners receive a variable rate based on a variety of factors, including page views, visitors and ad revenues. Recent payments have averaged $10 per 1,000 page views and your individual payments will be driving by your ability to self-promote and create eye-catching content.

I was at a site something like this where you would “receive payment” for writing articles pertaining to certain topics based upon how many views your articles received and what they were rated. “Helium.com” is the site if you want to check it out. Anyway, I posted several well-written, topic-oriented articles, and the most I “received” for it was about 28 cents. No lie. Hopefully this site works out better than that. I wish you the best, and thanks for posting this. I’ll be sure to check it out!
Wow, that’s totally bogus. I haven’t gotten around to Helium yet, and now I’m glad! Examiner pays you $10 or more per thousand views of your article, and you also get a lot of exposure and it’s really common for Examiner folks to be invited to do radio and television shows. I think that’s pretty much the benefits. Oh, and it’ll be a lot of fun! They didn’t mention that in the “What do I get out of this?” section. But check out Examiner, you can say you know me when you put in your application and I guess knowing members helps your chances of getting approved.
Also you can sign up for the Examiner in your area, it’s not just Indianapolis. So you could be the Oklahoma Food Expert or whatever.
